How ILM Manscaped the Orcs of Warcraft
Released on 06/10/2016
Our world is dying.
There is nothing to go back to.
If our people are to survive,
we must make home here.
My name is Gaelle Morand.
I am an (mumbles) artist and fur groomer on Warcraft.
Haircraft is a fur pipeline tool that
works with our 3D softwares,
and with it we're able to emit fur to generate fur
a hundreds of thousands of hair strands on the orcs
for the hairstyles and for the costume furs.
Haircraft was created especially for Warcraft.
We knew early on that we were going to need a lot of
detailed hairstyles and costume furs for the orcs.
With Haircraft you can generate braids,
you can generate costume fur, you can generate eyebrows.
But you can also generate body fur,
and we add a lot of body fur on the orcs.
The amount of detail in the hairstyles is phenomenal.
The amount of detail on the skin, the costume fur,
the jewelry, it's pretty incredible,
as you guys are going to see.
Haircraft allowed me to manscape.
