Driving Design - The Technology Shaping Tomorrow's Innovation

Hi my name is Thomas Meyerhoffer.

I'm a designer and innovator.

The first technological revolution of my lifetime

was the personal computer.

But the most revolutionary was really the internet.

It's impossible to overstate the extent

to which is transformed our world,

creating a bridge and allowing it to interact

with technology in ways you never thought possible.

The most cutting edge development

isn't crafting a new reality,

but in augmenting this one.

Soon we'll all use devices to overlay images in data

onto the real world.

Imagine a pane of glass that can turn a real world

objects into AR versions of themselves,

breaking the barriers between a digital and a physical.

With AR two dimensional objects becomes 3D.

AR will create more engaging moments,

allowing us to feel and experience more fully.

Nothing will compare with the next frontier of the internet,

artificial intelligence.

AI is giving machines the capacity

to learn on their own.

Deep learning will take the best of man made buildings

and provide new ways to incorporate those strengths,

into new and more natural earthly structures.

Completely reimagining how we will view

the relationship between man and environment.

So understanding the problem

in the right way, I think that's really the challenge.

That's why singular reductive to science are important.

This is a turning point in history,

a moment where we are redefining what's possible.
