Christmas is right around the corner, and given that so many of us are buying gifts remotely this year, you may still be looking for discounts. Green Monday is eBay's fabricated shopping holiday. Historically, the second Monday in December is the busiest retail sales day of the month, hence the money-themed name for the day.
It might be a weird day you've never heard of, but that doesn't mean there aren't some great deals. We've scoured the web for the best offers this Green Monday, with many matching the prices we saw on Black Friday and Cyber Monday a couple weeks ago.
Special offer for Gear readers: Get a 1-year subscription to WIRED for $5 ($25 off). This includes unlimited access to WIRED.com and our print magazine (if you'd like). Subscriptions help fund the work we do every day.
★ Best Smart Speaker—Sonos One for $159 ($40 off) at Sonos.com or Amazon: The Sonos One is the best Sonos speaker for most people, thanks to its compact size, Alexa and Google Assistant integration, and AirPlay 2 integration. It's rarely on sale, and this discount is only $10 shy of its Black Friday price. If you don't want a speaker with a microphone, the Sonos One SL is also on sale right now for $139 ($40 off).
JBL's Portable Bluetooth Speaker for $300 ($100 off): JBL's massive Boombox is like a modern version of the classic handle-topped design that works perfectly in the modern world. It has an IPX7 rating for occasional spray-downs, and a 24-hour battery that means you can jam all day and night.
★ Best Headphones—Sony WH-1000XM4 Wireless for $278 ($72 off): These headphones have been on sale for a good portion of the holidays, and if you're looking for the best noise canceling along with top-notch sound and battery life, look no further. This pair tops our Best Wireless Headphones list and our Best Noise-Canceling Headphones list.
Bose QuietComfort 35 II for $269 ($30 off): Bose's last-generation QuietComfort over-ears are still some of the best noise-canceling headphones you'll find, and they're nearly $100 cheaper than their original $350 list price, making now a great time to buy.
Amazon Echo—2020 Version—for $70 ($30 off): The new Echo is Amazon's best smart speaker yet, with a round design that fills small and medium-size rooms with vibrant (and surprisingly bassy) sound.
Amazon Echo Dot—2020 Version—for $30 ($20 off): The new Echo Dot might be the perfect bathroom speaker. I've got one hiding next to my shower, where it helps me relax after a workout, or get the news while I brush my teeth.
Apple Watch Series 6—2020 Version—for $350 ($49 off): The latest Apple Watch is still our favorite smartwatch, and it's only $20 more than its Cyber Monday price right now, so it's a good time to grab one if you're planning to log some workouts, or your sleep, in the new year.
Apple Watch Series 3 for $200 ($29 off): It's not as good as the latest Apple Watch, but the Series 3 is still a great, and very affordable, option for those who want workout, sleep tracking, and other wrist-ready data.
iRobot Roomba 981 for $400 ($172 off): This Roomba 981 is an Alexa-controllable robot vacuum that maps your house, making it less bumbly than many other autonomous vacs. Senior reviewer Adrienne So gave the last version, the 980, a 9/10 and a WIRED Recommends badge for its excellent cleaning power.
Instant Pot Viva (6 Quart) for $49 ($51 off): If you're skeptical whether you'll like an Instant Pot, or just don't need the extra space in the 8-quart model below, check out this 6-quart Viva model, which is half off for Green Monday.
Instant Pot Duo (8 Quart) for $99 ($41 off): I love using my Instant Pot to make rice, beans, and other grains with ease. This one is the larger model. It's great for those who like to cook big single-pot meals for the whole family.
★ Best Air Purifier—Coway Mighty for $220 ($30 off): Adrienne used two of these air purifiers to keep her house smoke-free during the last bout of Oregon wildfires, and was very happy with the results. If you need an air purifier for the increasingly smokey summers, consider grabbing one in the winter, when they're on sale. They even help with allergies. This model is virtually identical to the Coway Airmega 200M ($200, $30 off)), which still tops Our Favorite Air Purifiers list.
Samsung 8-Series (75-Inch) for $1,000 ($200 off): I rarely recommend TVs this large, but if you're in the market for a home-theater-sized model, this is a pretty good place to start. It has Samsung's great image processing, as well as Alexa and Google Assistant compatibility.
Vizio P-Series Quantum (65-inch) for $900 ($300 off): If you're after a higher-quality picture and a smaller-than-massive size compared to the Samsung above, check out this excellent P-Series Quantum from Vizio. Local dimming means deeper blacks, and Vizio's Smartcast interface is one of the best on any TV.
Epson 880 Projector and a 100-Inch Projector Screen for $750 ($200 off): If you want that real home theater experience, now is the time to get it. This package from Epson and Insignia includes a great full-HD projector and big wall-mountable projector screen. Just add a great streaming device—and popcorn.
Dell XPS 13 Laptop for $900 ($250 off): The Dell XPS 13 has been one of the better laptops you can buy for nearly a decade. This one comes with 8 gigabytes of RAM, a speedy 512-gigabyte solid-state drive, and the same compact design we've liked for years.
HP Pavilion Laptop for $630 ($270 off): WIRED reviewer Scott Gilbertson describes this as a "lot of laptop for $630," thanks to its 16 gigabytes of RAM, Intel Core i5 processor, and 512-GB solid-state hard drive.
Madden NFL 21 (Xbox One) for $30 ($29 off): If they haven't already snatched it, now is a great time to grab the latest Madden football game for a sports-loving gamer in your life.
