November has arrived, and in many parts of the country it has brought with it a blustery gust of cold air. If you're in the Bay Area and the thought of being cooped up all winter has your skin crawling, you might want to get out of the house and come visit us at WIRED25 next weekend, which will bring many of the people that we spoke to in our November issue, like Patrick Collison and Chris Evans, to our offices in San Francisco.
But this weekend’s deals are perfect for adventurers and avoiders alike. The Apple Watch Series 3 is discounted, and so are snow boots. You could upgrade your TV, or take advantage of Daylight Savings Time and an "extra" hour on Sunday to queue up your favorite show. Read on for more discounts on some of our favorite gear.
Note: When you buy something using the retail links in our stories, we may earn a small affiliate commission. Read more about how this works.
LG 65-Inch 4K TV for $500 ($100 off): This extra-large TV is pretty basic, but a good deal given its size. It gets the job done.
TCL 75-Inch 4K TV for $700 ($300 off): TCL is a reliable budget TV choice, and this set is massive. It has built-in Roku functionality.
Vizio M-Series Quantum 55-Inch 4K TV for $498 ($302 off): Vizio's mid-range line (hence the "M") is now 40 percent off. The TV is compatible with voice control via Apple HomeKit, Google Assistant, and Alexa.
Dell Vostro 15 Laptop for $1,099 ($900 off): This powerhouse of a laptop features a ninth-generation Intel Core i7 CPU, 16 gigabytes of DDR4 RAM, 512 gigabytes of SSD storage, a bright 1080p display, and Windows 10 Pro. The battery will also last you all day.
Lenovo Ideapad 330S—Ryzen 5, 8 GB RAM, 256 GB SSD—for $329 ($120 off): This machine has just enough 8 RAM and solid-state drive storage in a small footprint that's easy to carry.
Apple Watch Series 3 for $199 ($80 off): While the Series 5 is currently Apple's best smartwatch, the Watch Series 3 is still a great fitness tracker (the Series 4 has been discontinued). If you don't need cellular functionality, you can save more money.
Morphies Law for Switch for $5 ($15 off): This indie title takes your classic shooter game and adds a clever twist. Shooting enemies makes you grow and getting shot makes you shrink. There's also an excellent soundtrack and something called a buttrocket.
FIFA 20 Standard Edition on PS4 for $40 ($11 off): Take soccer out of those gleaming, grassy fields and into the streets. To get the discount, clip the on-page coupon.
Buy Two, Get One Free Movie, Music Album, Etc: Add three qualifying items to your Amazon shopping cart and the least expensive one will become free during checkout. The selection is huge and spans from 4K movies to board games to vinyl records and more. We especially like Super Mario Maker 2 for the Nintendo Switch and the newly-released The Outer Worlds for Xbox One.
Lego Ideas NASA Apollo Saturn V for $90 ($30 off) The massive kit lets you build three rocket stages and it measures over 39 inches tall when completed.
Cosori Air Fryer for $69 ($30 off): Air fryers are a controversial topic around these parts, but we understand the allure of fast, crispy food.
23andMe Health & Ancestry Kit for $99 ($100 off): This deal matches the discount we saw on Prime Day. Unlike similar DNA testing kits, 23andMe doesn't try to upsell you on extra services.
20 Percent Off One Full-Priced Item at Backcountry: If you join Backcountry's free rewards program, you can enter code TAKE20WINTER at checkout to get 20 percent off a full-priced item. Vans is expanding its all-weather line to include snow boots. We also like the North Face's 3-layer GoreTex soft shell gloves.
