Amazon Prime Day Live: We're Tracking the Deals For A Few More Hours
We're live-tracking Amazon's Big Deal Days sale, spotlighting the best Prime Day deals, highlighting trends, and offering commentary on the kick-off to the holiday shopping season.
Amazon Prime Day is such powerful branding that even Amazon can't contain it. This two-day sale event is technically known as Big Deal Days, but everyone we know still calls it Prime Day. It kicked off yesterday and continues through midnight tonight, whether or not we want it to.
We started early yesterday morning and will be posting through midnight tonight. As with most sales events, we spent about a month scouring spreadsheets, sorting through emails, and looking through our own reviews and buying guides for deals on the best things we've actually used and tested. The fun part about liveblogging is that you don't even have to be actually shopping for anything to appreciate the increasingly unhinged chaos of late-stage capitalism. Come for the standout deals and stay for the weirdest things we've found.
Featured Prime Day Deals
Nearly everyone on the 15-person WIRED Reviews team will chime in throughout the event, but your Prime Day Live Blog hosts are:
- Martin Cizmar and Louryn Strampe: 5:30 am-Noon EST
- Adrienne So and Jacob Roach: Noon-6 pm EST
- Matthew Korfhage: 6 pm-close
Signing off on Day 2 of October Prime Day Coverage
Well, we came, we spent, we saved. That's it for our Amazon Prime Big Deal Days live coverage of big deals—but this doesn't necessarily mean all deals will expire at midnight wherever you happen to be. Check back in at our big omnibus October Prime Day deals post to see which deals keep on hangin' on. And enjoy life past Prime.
One Last Terrific Earbuds Deal For Old Times' Sake
Consider this like the king-sized candy bar in the checkout aisle—a little trifle of an impulse buy on your way out of October Prime Day 2025. JLab makes improbably inexpensive earbuds that nonetheless perform improbably well—the lowest-cost deal we recommend among many budget headphone and earbud deals this year.
These JLab Go Pop ANC buds have good sound, a bit of noise canceling, basic EQ options, touch controls that actually work, and a low, low price that makes them a killer white elephant gift stuffer for yourself or kinda anybody. They're just $21 while the deal lasts.
$300 Is a Ridiculously Low Price for This Terrific Dyson Vacuum
There are a lot of good deals on Dyson vacuums this October Prime Day. But this V8 was among the best deals of Prime Day even at a $400, noted WIRED's resident Dyson expert Nena Farrell—a vacuum model so famously good that Dyson plans to bring it back next year in an updated generation.
Anyway, that deal dropped even lower today, into “ridiculously good deal” territory.. The V8 Plus—the “plus” means a varied set of vacuum attachments—is a mere $300 now, nearly half off, as October Prime Day nears completion.
While the Deal Lasts, WIRED's Upgrade Power Bank is $45 Off
This Anker power bank is the upgrade pick in WIRED's guide to the best power banks, which is to say it's the best one but it costs a bit more. Well … now it costs a bit less, at least until the October Prime Day deal disappears.
It's a beast, with 25,000 mAh capacity, and three USB-C ports rated at 100 watts. This means it can deliver 165 watts to juice multiple devices at the same time. This Anker has a cable that can double as a carrying strap—and a display that shows you the remaining power, and even the current battery temp and the charging rate for each port. How nice, and how briefly less expensive.
Play Remotely With Your Cat With This $60 Pet Camera
This pet camera designed specifically for cats combines popular laser toys that cats go crazy for with a pet security camera. It has crystal clear 1080p HD color and night vision, an extra wide 160 degree view, two-way audio to hear and talk to your pets, and fun features available with the paid Care plan, like video history, playback, and a 30-second compilation reel of highlights of the day. The laser toy aims to auto-engage when motion is detected, and you can manually play with your cat with the laser through the app to keep them entertained (and watched) even when you’re away from home. For a solid security camera and entertainment for chronically bored indoor pets, at $60 ($40 off) it’s a steal.
Upgrade to a Folding Smartphone for $400 Less
If you’re upgrading your smartphone and want to try something different, take a look at Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold7. The company has been making these booklike folding phones for seven generations now, and with that length of time comes durability improvements and a refined software experience. In this iteration, Samsung greatly slimmed down the entire phone and made it lighter, which is a big deal considering the typical chunkiness of this style of fold. You get a very normal-looking 6.9-inch screen, which is what you’ll use most of the time, and when you want to split-screen apps or just want a bigger view, open it up for the gorgeous 8-inch display.
I Cancelled My Streaming Services and Built My Own With This NAS
I cancelled nearly all my streaming services months ago when I pulled the trigger on a TerraMaster F4 all-SSD NAS. There are a ton of uses for Network Attached Storage, and I leverage mine as my own personal, private cloud. But I get the most use of my TerraMaster F4 with Plex. It’s a media library app, and I’m able to store terabytes upon terabytes of movies and TV shows that I can stream anywhere, all from my tiny TerraMaster F4. It’s an all-in-one solution for streaming, and I love it so much because it uses SSDs. I don’t need to worry about drives failing every other day, and I can have the NAS set up in my bedroom where the internet comes in without worrying about drive noise. When I log off this week, one thing is certain—I will be using my TerraMaster F4. I use it almost every day.
Don’t Sleep on the Original Dyson Supersonic
Even without the Nural’s scalp-saving features, the original Supersonic hair dryer is a solid choice, especially if you find it on sale, and provided you’re not routinely frying your strands on max heat. It's smaller and lighter, making it way easier to handle than the bulky dryers we grew up with. The magnetic attachments snap on easily, and the button placements are great, with no accidental mis-clicks. And the airflow feels hotter and faster without risking damage to your hair.
The Apple Watch Series 10 Is Crazy-Cheap If You Wear Size Medium/Large
The new Apple Watch Series 11 is very good, it turns out. It's one of the rare cases where WIRED reviewer Adrienne So actually recommends upgrading to the new version. But as with every other time Apple releases a new product, this is a great time to get a great deal on the also excellent previous generation, the Apple Watch Series 10.
Indeed, it's a whopping $120 off. This is a very good price. Lots of people apparently agree, because most sizes are sold out. But let's say you wear a medium-large watchband? And want the 46-mm case? This is your lucky day. You, and only people who want the same thing as you, can buy a very low-price Apple Watch Series 10. on Amazon. Note that Walmart has a slightly higher price, but a much better selection of remaining watches at the moment.
The Amazon Fire HD 10 Tablet Is Just $70
While the deal lasts, this is the time to buy a Fire HD 10. It's just $70—a good price even if you just need something to watch movies while stuck on a plane (or lately, stuck in line to get in line to get on a plane.). The Fire HD 10 was already Amazon’s best-value tablet at regular price. Today, it's half off. And by today, I mean the waning hours of today. This tablet is not a powerhouse, but the 3 GB of RAM should be enough to keep maybe ten tabs open, send some emails, and watch Prime videos. Check out the other Fire tablet deals here.
Amazon’s Largest Echo Show Is Actually Growing on Me
For a long time, I was an Echo Show 15 naysayer. I didn’t think it did anything particularly well compared to other smart displays and Echo speakers, and didn’t feel it was worth the price tag. But with early access to Alexa+, I’m feeling a little differently. The screen hasn’t felt too large while sitting on my desk, and has been an easy way to glance to see the weather and my calendar for the day, play music, and see other widgets or things I’ve interacted with. I’m actually growing to like it better than the Echo Show 8, because the Show 8 constantly rotates what’s on screen to show you the same information the Show 15 can always have available with the screen size differences. There’s no distracting slideshow, just the information and widgets I want when I use the Show 15. Still, it’s not cheap to invest in. But that’s what makes its on-sale status the perfect time to give it a whirl, especially if you intend to use Alexa+ with your smart speakers..
A Curling Iron That Plays Nice With Everyone—And It’s on Sale
The GHD Soft Curl heats up in just 25 seconds, so by the time you section off your hair, it’s already ready to use. The elongated barrel and clamp do most of the work, holding your hair in place, which means you don’t have to adjust it much. My curls remained bouncy well into the next day (with hairspray), which is impressive, considering my hair flattens the moment I step outside.
A Trusty Docking Station With Space for Storage
You probably didn’t know you needed it, but a laptop docking station with SSD storage built-in is a fabulous idea. Rather than wasting space and money with an external SSD like so many of us do, this Satechi accessory has an SSD enclosure right on the back. The shape of it is even designed to fit under your laptop to prop it up. So, while there are docking stations that can handle more displays (this one can support two 4K monitors), Satechi’s unique design thinks of interesting new ways to flesh out your home workstation.
Wait, Is It Christmas Light Season Already? There's a Sale, So It Must Be
Now that we’re firmly into the Fall, Christmas is creeping closer, and if you want to brighten up your holiday season, the Philips Hue Festavia are the best smart Christmas lights you can buy. This 65-foot string is easy to drape on an indoor or outdoor tree (the lights are IP44 rated) and sports 250 tiny LEDs. You can pick any color, animate with twinkly effects, and even tune white to find your preferred color temperature. Cozy and classy, these smart string lights can be scheduled with different colors or effects for different times of day, paired with other Hue lights, or synced with music. Philips Hue stuff tends to be very expensive, so sales like this are the time to bite, and this is a decent discount.
It's 10 p.m. (Eastern), America. Do You Know Where Your Keys Are?
I never actually know where my keys are offhand. I only know where my wallet is if it's still in my pants. I have bought so many pairs of nail clippers and reading glasses I can probably start a very specific kind of retail store, eventually. But I can always find where I parked my car, because I stuck an AirTag in it. These little quarter-sized trackers are a great solution for bicycles, and for luggage when you travel. And I probably should throw one into my wallet. They're a bit cheaper than usual at the moment, assuming you've just bought a few new expensive accessories to track.
Note that AirTags require you have an iPhone. Using the Find My app, if you've lost something in your home, you can walk around with your phone and use the camera, gyroscope, and accelerometer to direct you toward your missing keys. Which I just found, by the way. They were on the washing machine.
THINK OF THE CHILDREN!
No, but seriously, think of the children. Now that you've already got your shiny new espresso machine or laptop on the cheap, amid hundreds of other October Prime Day deals, WIRED's Louryn Strampe has put together a list of Prime Day deals on toys and games and whatever Squishmallows are, for the children in your life.
Or, maybe just think of these as potential gifts for the child in your heart—the child you still maybe kinda are.
Yep, It’s an Air Purifier—That Vacuums
I don’t know when exactly the air purifier industry decided their appliances were boring, but it seems to have happened. You can now buy purifiers that double as sunrise alarm clocks, planters, space heaters, and even pet beds. I thought I had seen it all as editor of our guide to the Best Air Purifiers, but then WIRED contributing reviewer Lisa Wood Shapiro unearthed the EyeVac, a HEPA purifier that’s also a touchless vacuum and automatic dustbin. She loved that she could sweep dust, pet hair, and debris directly into its vacuum opening, which activates with infrared sensors, and also that the purifier itself is effective, achieving five air exchanges per hour in a 120-square-foot room. If you, too, feel like this is an appliance that’s been missing from your life, you can snag it for 24 percent off this Prime Day.
The Kindle Scribe Was My Best Prime Day Buy
Last Prime Day, I impulse-bought the Kindle Scribe, and it’s become my favorite purchase. I love reading before bed, but I used to conk out after two or three pages. Holding a hefty hardcover while lying down and fumbling with a highlighter if I wanted to annotate? Way too much effort when I’m already half-asleep. The Scribe fixed all of that. It’s lightweight enough to hold in one hand, and flipping pages is just a thumb tap away. The stylus makes highlighting easy, and the e-ink screen doesn’t strain my eyes like a phone or tablet. I don’t get distracted by notifications, and I can finally read longer without fighting the urge to pass out.
The KitchenAid Mixer Is an American Classic. It's $120 Off Right Now
Yo! This stand mixer from KitchenAid is what you picture when you picture a stand mixer. It is a design that has stood the test of many generations, multiple wars, multiple visions of what it meant to be American. But you know what's definitely American? This beautiful die-cast thing, with a planetary mixing motion like a machine dreamed up for Galileo. KitchenAid mixers are good-looking heirlooms often passed down in families: built to last, with feature sets and add-ons that can make versatile enough for pastries, meringues, meat grinding, citrus, pasta, ice shaving, and all sorts of bread. It comes in something like a thousand colors, or maybe more like 27.
Anyway, this mixer often goes on sale for big sale-type events, and so big sale-type events are when you want to buy it. Lucky you, that's today: It's $120 off.
Amazon Is Running Out of This Terrific Coffee Maker
I just noticed belatedly that one of my favorite coffee makers, period, is on sale. Like every coffee maker from Ratio, the Six Series 2 is simple. Or at least, it's simple to use. You press a button, and then delicious coffee comes out. Underneath this simplicity is a lot of complexity—and a whole lot of testing, and a whole lot of optimized flow and time and temperature in order to maximize extraction of flavor. Quite simply, Ratio's coffee machines are the ones that most consistently offer the most flavor from drip coffee, and the fullest body.
Anyway, this Six Series 2 is 20 percent off today, on Amazon only. The Six is an eight-cup (40-ounce) device, with a thermal carafe that keeps coffee hot for literal hours. The little stackable brewing setup looks cool, but can feel a little awkward at first. You get used to it, and then it just looks cool again. Anyway, last I looked, the deal has an expiration date of “damn soon.” Only about a dozen of each color were left as of 8:30 p.m. Eastern.
