BAFTA TV awards: the list of winners, all in one place

Happy Valley, Fleabag and Emmerdale are winners in the BAFTA TV awards 2017

Despite leading the way with nominations for the BAFTA TV awards,Netflix's historical drama The Crown failed to pick up a single win.

Ahead of the event, The Crown had five nominations, including a nomination in the best Drama Series category, a Leading Actress nomination for Claire Foy for her portrayal of the Queen, Supporting Actor nominations for Jared Harris and John Lithgow and a Supporting Actress nomination for Vanessa Kirby. Harris, Lithgow and Kirby are all first-time nominees.

Other Leading and Supporting performance nominees included Jodie Comer (Thirteen) and Nikki Amuka-Bird (NW) competing in Leading Actress, with Daniel Mays (Line of Duty) nominated for best Supporting Actor. NW received a second nomination in Single Drama.

One-off drama Damilola, Our Loved Boy received three nominations in Single Drama, Leading Actor (for Babou Ceesay) and Supporting Actress (for Wunmi Mosaku who took the title.) It took the award for Single Drama. Happy Valley received nominations in Drama Series, which it won, Leading Actress (for Sarah Lancashire) and Supporting Actress (for Siobhan Finneran). The adaptation of Leo Tolstoy’s epic, War & Peace, and The Durrells, based on Gerald Durrell’s autobiographical Corfu trilogy, were also nominated in Drama Series.

Elsewhere, Fleabag received three nominations in Scripted Comedy and Female Performance in a Comedy Programme (for Olivia Colman and for Phoebe Waller-Bridge). Waller-Bridge won the award. Lesley Manville also received a nomination in the category for Mum, as does Diane Morgan for Cunk on Shakespeare.

Cunk on Shakespeare was additionally been nominated in the Comedy & Comedy Entertainment Programme along with The Last Leg, which received a nomination in Entertainment Performance for Adam Hills. Completing the Comedy & Comedy Entertainment Programme category were Charlie Brooker’s 2016 Wipe and Taskmaster. Charlier Brooker took the prize.

Michael McIntyre won the Entertainment Performance category for Michael McIntyre’s Big Show, which received a second nomination for Entertainment Programme. Strictly Come Dancing received a nomination in Entertainment Programme and in Entertainment Performance for Claudia Winkleman. Britain’s Got Talent and Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Take Away also received nominations in Entertainment Programme and Graham Norton concluded the Entertainment Performance category by receiving a nomination for The Graham Norton Show – the 15th of his career to date. Of course, Ant and Dec won.

A number of programmes received two nominations each: The Hollow Crown: The Wars of the Roses in Mini Series and Leading Actor (for Benedict Cumberbatch); National Treasure in Mini Series and Leading Actor (for three-time BAFTA winner Robbie Coltrane); Murdered by My Father in Single Drama and Leading Actor (for Adeel Akhtar). National Treasure took the Mini Series crown. Completing the double nominations was mockumentary series People Just Do Nothing with a nomination (and a win) in Scripted Comedy and Male Performance in Comedy Programme, for Asim Chaudhry.

The Male Performance in a Comedy Programme category included nominations and a win for Steve Coogan, who received a nomination for Alan Partridge's Scissored Isle, making him a BAFTA television nominee for the 10th time. Joining him were other multiple BAFTA nominees David Mitchell for Upstart Crow and Harry Enfield for The Windsors.

The following received a single nomination each: The Secret (Mini Series), The Witness for the Prosecution (Mini Series); Aberfan: The Green Hollow (Single Drama); Nicola Walker (Supporting Actress for Last Tango in Halifax); Camping (Scripted Comedy) and Flowers(Scripted Comedy).

The nominations for Soap & Continuing Drama went to Casualty, EastEnders, Emmerdale and Hollyoaks. Emmerdale took the title.

And in the International category, true crime, justice, gender, science fiction and horror went head-to-head with nominations for The Night Of, The People v OJ Simpson: American Crime Story, Stranger Things and Transparent. The award went to The People v OJ Simpson: American Crime Story. Joanna Lumley took the BAFTA TV fellowship award.
