Nerf Has 6 New Blasters—Here Are All of Them
Little brothers and sisters of the world, run for cover. Nerf has unveiled six new blasters with range-extending, rapid-firing, and aim-assisting features, which means foam darts will soon start raining down on your little noggins with greater accuracy, greater speed, and from longer distances. All of these Nerf toys will be available this fall, so consider this a preview.
This blaster's design makes for more efficient loading, so you can spend less time plugging darts into it and more time pelting your enemies. The Infinus Elite uses a motorized loading system; feed fistfuls of darts into the funnel at the back of the blaster, and the foam projectiles get loaded straight into the 30-dart removable ammo drum. Power up and pull the trigger to release a continuous stream of foam darts before your enemies can say Nerf. This speedy blaster comes with 30 Elite darts. It will be available in the fall for $70.
Want a more accurate shooter? The Accustrike Mega Thunderhawk comes with a flip-down bipod to stabilize the blaster for longer-range combat. The barrel also extends forward to help improve your accuracy and get that dart right in the bull's eye (or your brother's forehead). It comes with a side-loading clip and ten darts. Get one this fall for $50.
With a light-up body and rapid-fire motorized blasting, this one's not your average shot in the dark. Part of Nerf's Ghost Ops series, the entirely translucent Modulus Evader can light your path when you're playing in dimly-lit situations, or you can switch the light off and go full stealth. There's a barrel extender that lights up when you attach it, and it comes with 12 darts. $40, in stores this fall.
If the Nerf zombies ever strike, this blaster will have you prepared. It comes with two dart clips, so if the 12 darts in the first clip don't stop your zombie sister, pull out the backup for another dozen rounds. A slam-fire button lets you quickly peel off a dart in close situations, and a clip-on stock attachment holds an emergency secondary blaster with two extra shots. $50, and like all the other blasters Nerf announced this week, it'll be in stores by the fall.
Older kids (14 and up) will get a kick out of this blaster, which fires darts at a ridiculously fast eight rounds per second. That giant hopper holds 200 rounds, so you can annoy your friends with a steady stream of foam pellets for 25 seconds straight. It comes with rechargeable batteries to power that motorized rapid-fire feature. It'll cost $200 when it goes on sale this fall.
The Nitro series of Nerf toys swaps the standard darts for little foam cars, sort of a throw-back to the Ricochet Racers of old. This new Nitro-series blaster is a double-barrel beast that shoots two cars over, around or through the eight obstacles, double ramp, and double pop-up target you get in the box. The blaster comes with four cars in total, so while the first two fly down the ramp, two others await their turn to cruise. $40 for set, which arrives in the (yep) fall.
