Cosmography of the Local Void

*A large under-dense region. How strange the universe is.

A video map of the Local Void, a large underdense region of the Universe, on the outskirts of which is located our galaxy the Milky Way, and of its relation with other cosmic voids and major overdense neighbors.

This video has been produced as part of the following paper: "Cosmicflows-3: Cosmography of the Local Void" by R. Brent Tully, Daniel Pomarède, Romain Graziani, Hélène M. Courtois, Yehuda Hoffman, and Edward J. Shaya, The Astrophysical Journal 880 (2019) 24 doi.org/10.3847/1538-4357/ab2597
