*I should have known things in Makerdom would work out this way, but this is still a rather strange development. It's like a very large merchandise booth at an American science fiction convention.
Nation of Makers -

•Nation of Makers is proud to announce that it is one of five organizations selected by the U.S. Department of Energy’s National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) to facilitate and grow the American-Made Solar Prize.
As a Power Connector, Nation of Makers will receive $100,000 to help build capacity for and ensure the success of the Solar Prize, which is designed to encourage innovation and revitalize U.S. solar manufacturing. NREL selected Power Connectors for their vision, strength of networks, track record of success, and geographic diversity, among other factors. As a national nonprofit that connects and supports maker organizations, Nation of Makers is excited to work with NREL to support the American Made Solar Prize challenge through engagement of its extensive network of makerspaces as well as non-profit, for-profit, local, and federal partners across the United States, helping to achieve the program’s goal of growing the solar innovation ecosystem and revitalizing American solar manufacturing.
