I wonder what’s going to become of these European volunteers for ISIS. When these millennial guys are old and gray, will they ever be able to meet and reminisce about their old days in camouflage under the drones? Will they be hunted down one by one, by the equivalent of Nazi hunters, and sent to prison for terrorism? Half of them are dead in combat, which is a huge toll for a volunteer force, but half are still alive, and mostly, back in Europe where they were born.
Their ISIS patrons unwisely left a large digital data-trail about them. What are they supposed to do with themselves? How could they run for office, or start a business, or teach in school, or do pretty much anything that might call their backgrounds into scrutiny?
Maybe they could emigrate to Argentina. That used to work.
