"Sister Flash" they used to call her, maybe because "Mary Brown" would have been too simple for her. Maria here was a Turinese street artist with major new-media interests. She was a mainstay, really a pillar, of the Share Festival of electronic art. Maria was always around, and always so generous with her time and energy.
Leukemia swept her away in a matter of weeks, so I won't be seeing her again, but it was such a pleasure to know her. I don't think I ever met anybody who was so authentically "punk" and also "cyber."
