Alex Mar is the author of the nonfiction books Witches of America, which was a New York Times Notable Book, and Seventy Times Seven, which was a New York Times Editors' Choice and one of New York Magazine's “Best Books of 2023.” Her longform journalism, reviews, and essays have appeared in numerous publications, including New York Magazine, WIRED, The Wall Street Journal, Rolling Stone, and The Guardian, as well as The Best American Magazine Writing. Her 2017 feature for WIRED, “Love in the Time of Robots,” was a finalist for the National Magazine Award in Feature Writing. Her debut novel Fortune will be published in early 2027.
