So, if you ask us, there's a great thing happening on late-night TV right now, and that great thing is Seth Meyers. His interviews often feel the most normal, the most conversational, and the least outright sycophantic. (We're not naming names, but you all know what we mean.) If there was one chat show—in the States—to go on for a nice, engaging and human conversation, it's Late Night with Seth Meyers, and considering how rocky and stilted the program could feel back when it started, that's a huge and exciting improvement. Meanwhile, we've also got the masters at work, namely Jon Stewart and John Oliver, putting just the right words to our embattled emotions about the corrupt and morally bankrupt figures we see at home and abroad, and, oh yeah! We welcomed Caitlyn Jenner to the world and not everyone was terrible about it. Steps forward will always be accompanied by steps back, but at least our momentum is moving in the right direction. Here is your week in best TV!
Alicia Vikander, our current favorite on-screen humanoid, was on TV. So, here she is. Thank us in the comments section. (And we know you haven't had enough yet, so here is the rest of the interview.)
See? It's funny, because it's true! And if you want to see Seth Meyers' kind remarks on the topic of Caitlyn Jenner, you can find them here. Welcome to the world, Caitlyn!

The duo of Chris Pratt and Melissa McCarthy might be one of the best teams we could send overseas to promote a positive perception of the United States. They're basically goodwill ambassadors. And if you want to see Pratt hit new levels of charming, watch him put on his best Essex accent here.

When FIFA started unraveling over the past few weeks, we were desperately hoping John Oliver would step forward and point his laser sights at the institution once again. And then he did! Dreams do come true! If you want to get the full experience, watch Oliver's first takedown of FIFA from June of last year. How nice of the organization to celebrate their One Year Oliver Anniversary in such grand fashion!
You know, that NBC Nightly News desk still kind of has an opening, right? Don't miss the in-the-field portion of the segment here.
So this interview is funny for a couple of reasons. It's funny because these are two funny people making each other laugh, and it's also funny because the audience really doesn't laugh that much at all. At a certain point it really just turns into two friends having a nice conversation on late-night TV. Sorry, audience, this one wasn't for you. But if you're charmed by Seth and Rose, you can see the rest of interview here. Maybe you will laugh. Maybe you won't.
You know by now that if Alan Cumming is on late-night TV, he's going to land in this roundup. It's one of our bylaws. Continue to lose yourself in his majesty here.
Sorry. Maybe this is just us, but tonally inappropriate music is one of the funniest things in the world, and this bit had us choke-laughing through tears. Like the insane opening credits music for HBO's The Jinx, or this seven-minute – video of David Caruso one-liners from CSI: Miami being capped off with screaming vocals from The Who. It's just so, so funny. Top it off with Jon Stewart's beautiful Lindsay Graham impersonation and this is pure gold.
Major props to Jimmy Fallon for voluntarily participating in anything that has Jason Statham hitting him in the face. Maybe next time he'll let Jason wear a foam foot for the game, and make it really interesting.
Yes yes yes it's another Jon Stewart segment, but come on! The guy's going off the air soon and we have to soak him up while we can! Melissa McCarthy was all over the airwaves this week promoting her new movie Spy, but this was the only time she wore a dress with the host's face all over it! But she was also on Seth Meyers and Jimmy Fallon, too. Laugh and have good times with them all!
