On today’s Game|Life podcast, I begin by running down my latest sojourn to Japan. What’s up with Akihabara, once the Mecca of all videogame nerds? It’s still where you go if you want to buy the ultra-rarest games in all of Tokyo, but it’s not nearly as impressive as it once was. I tell Wired senior editor Peter Rubin all about it, plus some off-topic stuff about bakeries and the Hakone Ropeway.

Then we get to talkin’ about Microsoft’s impending announcement of the next Xbox console, and of the new rumors that seem to come out on a daily basis now.

We try to talk about Nintendo, too, but I just couldn’t bring myself to keep going by that point. It’s all becoming too much. I may call a Nintendo moratorium until E3. We’ll see how that goes.
