California condors Shatash and Sisquoc have a fuzzy, awkward, helpless little bundle in their nest at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park. You can watch the baby grow on a live webcam for at least 5 months until it learns to fly, and possibly as long as a year.
The chick is 2 weeks old now and needs your help to find a name. From 93 submissions on Facebook and Twitter, the zoo’s condor team selected three for the public to vote on. Their only requirement is that the names be in Chumash, a family of languages spoken by Chumash Native Americans.
You can vote on the following names until April 2: Maxa’lam, meaning to hold a festival or throw a party; Saticoy, which means sheltered from the wind; and Moyomin, which means to be mischievous.
While we think those names are nice and all, the Wired staff came up with some more options for you to vote on:
