Generally, we're a DVR kind of family that takes a certain pride in blazing through commercials--but we will stop fast-forwarding for the good ads: The Hobbit trailer. All Swiffer commercials. This "Night Bikes" ad.

"OooooooooooOOOOOOOOOOOOOOoooooooo," has been the general response to all that flash-mobby luminescence. "I want to do thaaaaaaaat!"

Well, we can! We would just need to paint our bikes with a bit of strontium aluminate...and this handy Instructables explains what that would entail. The bonus is that a paint job like this can make night time bike riding much, much safer. As the author says:

I must say, after creating this bike I feel much safer riding in the dark, cars are able to spot me from quite a far distance. I've even gotten a few compliments on the cool style of the bike! Safety and style... it's a win win!

So thus begins my instructable - a glowing bike that will not only amaze friends and onlookers, but be extremely safe for riding in the dark.

The biggest challenge is probably going to be disassembling and reassembling the bikes. We can do this!
