On most Mondays I pick five posts from the previous week in the geoscience blogosphere that caught my eye. I limit it to just five because I want those who are not already plugged into this community to get a manageable sampling of the awesome stuff out there.
Here's my list for November 21-27, 2011.
Maitri from Maitri's VatulBlog shares some spectacular panoramic photos of the beautiful volcanic landscapes in Hawaii.
Chuck McGee of Lounge of the Lab Lemmin**g has a great not-so-fast post about a new paper in Nature using the oxygen isotope record in dinosaur teeth to say something about their migration behavior.
Tony Martin of Life Traces of the Georgia Coast discusses the preservation of trace fossils and the geologic record.
The blog Sandatlas has nice post about one of my favorite aspects of sedimentary geology with 'Sand that remembers the rock it once was'
Finally, Ryan Anderson from Martian Chronicles compiles a few videos (including his own) of the successful launch of Mars Science Laboratory mission, which will reach the red planet next August to begin geological field work.
