Each Monday I pick five posts from the previous week in the geoscience blogosphere that caught my eye. This week is a bit different in that my picks span the last couple of weeks. I limit it to just five because I want to highlight the awesome stuff out there for those already not plugged into this part of the science blogging world.
- Dave Petley of The Landslide Blog has a series of posts sharing photos and notes from field work in Christchurch, New Zealand area investigating the effects of the recent earthquakes.
- Ryan Anderson of Martian Chronicles shares his experience of descending nearly two miles into the Earth.
- Maitri of Maitri's VatulBlog captures the frustratingly familiar circumstances of using sophisticated software to help you be productive in your technical work.
- Very glad to see that Eric from The Dynamic Earth is blogging again after a year-long hiatus (unconformity?). He gets back into it with this nice post about the wood-burrowing trace fossil known as Teredolites.
- Matt Hall from Agile* uses a cartoon and some simple, yet powerful, image analysis tricks to discuss the interpretation of geophysical data.
* This digest is what catches my eye throughout the week. With scores of posts a week from geoscience blogs I'm sure to miss a lot. Don't hesitate to let me know about other great posts in the geoblogosphere via Twitter, e-mail, or in the comment thread.
