I Want YOU to Watch Doctor Who Tonight

Next,Doctor Who is coming back to BBC America tonight at 9pm ET/PT  for the second half of series 6.

When last we left the good Doctor, he was racing off to rescue Melody Pond — Amy and Rory’s new born daughter — from the clutches of Madam Kavorian, who had kidnapped the child to use as a weapon against the Doctor. We also found out that River Song is the adult Melody Pond, a bit of a shocker, which only deepens her mystery.

Series 6, Part 2 will pick up in the middle of things, as show runner Steven Moffat is wont to do, With an episode simply entitled “Let’s Kill Hitler”. According to the BBC America press release:

In the desperate search for Melody Pond, the TARDIS crash lands in 1930s Berlin, bringing the Doctor face to face with the greatest war criminal in the Universe — and Hitler. The Doctor must teach his adversaries that time travel has responsibilities — and in so doing, learns a harsh lesson in the cruelest warfare of all. “Let’s Kill Hitler,” written by Steven Moffat, premieres Saturday, August 27, 9:00pm ET/PT.

It looks as if the second part of Series 6 promises even more up and downs than the first part, if the same press release is to be believed:

The truth about River Song is out and the time has come for the Doctor to face his greatest demons. Together, they’ll discover there’s no scarier place in the universe than a child’s bedroom and a visit to an alien quarantine facility will reveal to Rory a very different side to his wife. He has one last stop to make on his final journey – an old friend needs his help and an old foe must be defeated. But time catches up with us all and the Doctor can delay no more.
