The upcoming Mission: Impossible — Ghost Protocol showcases a radical change of pace for former Pixar filmmaker Brad Bird, who steers Tom Cruise through a flurry of fistfights, explosions, gunplay and terse conversations in the new trailer above.
The clip saves the best for last by teasing a sequence that shows Cruise, as secret agent Ethan Hunt, tumbling through the air without parachute off a huge skyscraper.
No word on whether a double was involved, but Cruise is known for doing his own stunts. If he leaped off the building in a single bound, the actor is hereby forgiven for making Knight and Day.
Mission: Impossible — Ghost Protocol opens Dec. 16.
