Cheeseburger guitarist Christy Karacas wants to make one thing absolutely clear: His band’s new song “Winner” was absolutely not inspired by Charlie Sheen. Sure, the song’s video shows a lot of what Sheen might call “winning,” but the concept is all Cheeseburger.
When asked by Wired.com to say something — anything he wanted — about the first single from new album Another Big Night Down the Drain, Karacas focused entirely on that point and nothing else.
His e-mail missive:
Wethinks the guitarist doth protest too much, but OK.
It should be noted that when Karacas isn’t playing guitar or ranting at former Two and a Half Men stars, he’s the co-creator of Superjail on Cartoon Network’s insomniac block Adult Swim. Hence the animation in the “Winner” video and Karacas’ sick sense of humor.
The second season of the grotesque prison cartoon Superjail, back this spring, will feature more music by Cheeseburger. The band’s new album is being put out by the Adult Swim-associated label Williams Street Records.
