Projecting forward in the space-time continuum beyond Thursday’s wormhole installation, the claque of absurdist inventors and self-proclaimed quacks will, on Feb. 4, unveil The Automatoggler. Described as a logical successor to inventions like Eli Whitney’s cotton gin and Alexander Graham Bell’s telephone, the League brags in a statement that The Automatoggler will not only save humanity but “also makes toast.”
The League of Imaginary Scientists concludes its guest residency in MOCA’s The Evolving Contraption series with a March 3 exercise in steampunk air flight called The Zephyr Experiment.
The free series begins at 7 p.m. Pacific Thursday. Get details at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles website.
