Trailer: The Last Lovecraft: Relic of Cthulhu Enters 'Nerd Black Hole'

“It’s a nerd black hole,” says one of the hapless adventurers in comedy thriller The Last Lovecraft: Relic of Cthulhu. That pretty much sums up the insanity that ensues once an office drone named Jeff finds out he’s cursed to face down monsters created by his much more creative ancestor, H.P. Lovecraft.

As seen in the clip embedded above, The Last Lovecraft mines the legendary horror novelist’s reputation for spawning monstrous demons as it pits mild-mannered Jeff (Kyle Davis) and his pals against mythic beast Cthulhu. A deranged outdoorsman also contributes to the jeopardy by welcoming the carload of geeks with the question: Have you ever been fish-raped?

Released theatrically in 2009, The Last Lovecraft comes to DVD on Feb. 15.
