Each Monday I pick five posts from the previous week in the geoscience blogosphere that caught my eye. I limit it to just five because I want those who are not already plugged into this community to get a manageable sampling of the awesome stuff out there.
Here is my list for November 15-21, 2010:
- Chuck (a self-described geochemical soldier of fortune) of Lounge of the Lab Lemming is starting a series on Rare Earth Elements (REEs), which is going to be required reading for anyone venturing into this topic. First check out his introductory post and then the first post about relationship of REEs and star formation.
- Silver Fox of Looking for Detachment shares her thoughts (and some beautiful photographs) about the end of the field mapping season in her neck of the woods.
- Ole Nielsen of olelog discusses new data and ideas about how the glacial depositional features known as drumlins form.
- Callan Bentley of Mountain Beltway wonders if a Mars surface pattern seen on a HiRISE image is an angular unconformity.
- Zoltan Sylvester of Hindered Settling connects Einstein, tea leaves, meandering rivers, and beer. Enough said.
Enjoy!
* This digest is what catches my eye throughout the week. With scores of posts a week from geoscience blogs I'm sure to miss a lot. Don't hesitate to let me know about other great posts in the geoblogosphere via Twitter, e-mail, or in the comment thread.
