There is seemingly no end to the outlandish concepts at the Tokyo Auto Show that push the boundaries of design, if not practicality. But even by that measure, Yamaha has gone waaaaay out on a limb with an electric, er, scooter that pretty much redefines the term.
The EC-f is purely whimsical and almost certainly nothing more than a design study, so Yamaha didn't provide much in the way of details. Not that it matters, because you won't see this in showrooms anytime soon. All we know is the EC-f has an aluminum frame and a lithium-ion battery. This is what Yamaha had to say about it (translated from Japanese):
Yes, actually, it is. Yamaha's EC03 electric scooter concept, like Honda's electric Cub-EV may be more practical, but we like the EC-f just the same. Not as much as, say, an R6, but still...
