Forget Lollapalooza. San Francisco's Outside Lands Music and Arts Festival is the place to be for blockbuster bands. And Wired.com is looking for two good sonic soldiers to step into the fray and document everything from crazed concertgoers to cool artists.
We're looking for two worthy documentarians who know great music and how to capture killer footage. Two lucky entrants will win tickets with full media access to Outside Lands, which kicks out the jams Aug. 28 to 30 in San Francisco's sublime Golden Gate Park, plus a new Kodak Pocket HD camera. Note: Transportation to Outside Lands is not included in the prize packages.
Want to become one of Wired's honorary Outside Lands correspondents? Tell us who are the best artists at the festival and why, as well as what skills you possess that make you a suitable complement to our pros, who will also be covering the show. That's harder than you might think. From Autolux, Ween and Bat for Lashes to The Dead Weather, M.I.A., Os Mutantes, Thievery Corporation and more, the festival has some great acts on tap. (See the full lineup.)
And there will be more than music to shoot. There should be some sumptuous food action going down at the festival's Taste of the Bay Area attraction. Some of Earth's finest eateries lie right outside the green borders of Golden Gate Park, so Outside Lands will definitely serve up something more than typically stale festival grub.
So get to it. Post a comment below that shows off your music smarts and reps your video skills. We'll pick two commenters who will win the packages. Comments must be received by 12:01 a.m. Aug. 14.
