Very happy to say that Wired.co.uk went live 26 March at 10.00AM GMT, the second of the new Wired International sites — Wired.it launched five weeks ago.
On Wired.co.uk you'll find a whole bunch of new original content from the Wired.co.uk online team: particular favourites of mine include a piece on the death blogs by Howard Swains, on the peculiar phenomenon of people who fake their own deaths online; a cracking piece by Wired.com regular David Axe on the US military's plan to equip robotic space marines that can be sent anywhere in the world in two hours; and a beautiful photo story on the art that has been displayed on the London Underground over the years.
It also behooves me to point out that we have video footage of pole-dancing robots from London's Kinetica Art Fair.
You'll also get a chance to check out a digital version of the UK magazine, which goes on sale here next week, and which has got some great stuff in which I can't tell you about yet, but trust me — it's a beautiful mag.
We're delighted with the initial reaction to the site and would like to thank the Twitterverse for all the kind words and link love, we really look forward to doing some great stories for you, we know who you are.
All the best,
Michael Parsons, editorial honcho over at Wired International
