Following the success of the Dead Space animated movie, Electronic Arts and Starz Media's Film Roman have revealed a collaboration to produce an animated flick to tie-in with the publisher's upcoming Dante's Inferno.

Monday's official announcement describes the film thusly:

Just as the poem and game take players on a stunning journey through the nine circles of Hell, the Dante’s Inferno animated feature will also follow
Dante as he travels through limbo, lust, gluttony, greed, anger, heresy, violence, fraud and treachery in search of his true love, Beatrice. Both are based on part one of
Dante Alighieri’s classic poem, “The Divine Comedy,”
better known as “Dante’s Inferno.”

More interesting than simple plot details however, is how EA and Starz Media are approaching the project: Instead of simply handing the film's reins to a single creative team, the duo are "commissioning unique visions from multiple studios" with film credits ranging from Dead Space Downfall to Hellboy Animated: Blood & Iron and The Spectacular Spider-Man.
