"EDP Casting is currently looking for Real People to portray characters from the classic video game PUNCH-OUT," read a recent craigslist ad from the New York City area.

Though the ad has since been removed from the popular site, while it was still posted, it was very specific about what sort of people EDP was seeking:

PISTON HONDA - Asian guy, preferably Japanese, late twenties to mid thirties. In good physical shape. In your submission please list your ethnicity, i.e. Chinese, Korean, etc. and please state if you have any martial arts or kick boxing experience.

KING HIPPO - Heavy set, bald, Polynesian, Samoan, Pacific Islander or Caucasian guy. 30 to mid forties

LITTLE MAC - Caucasian, 18 - 25yrs old NY native. 5"9 and under with dark hair. Real fire in his eye, young boxer type. In good physical shape. Please list in your submission if you have any boxing experience.

GREAT TIGER - Indian, Pakistani, Middle Eastern, late twenties to late thirties, fighter type. In good physical shape.

I attempted to contact EDP this morning, to ask what they were casting for, and if the production company behind whatever they were working on had received the blessing of the notoriously litigious Nintendo to use the Japanese firm's intellectual property.

"Please do not run the story at all. We are done casting for this project," was the only response I received.

What do you guys think? Is this an ad for the new Wii game? A bizarre play? A Punch-Out-themed amusement park? I'm definitely hoping for that last one.
