Super Mario Kart is a great game, but the best game ever? That's the claim made by the editors of the top 50 console games of all time list featured in the 2009 version of the Guinness Book of World Records: Gamer's Edition.
Admittedly, the press release that contained the list said that "Super Mario Kart" actually refers to the entirety of the series, instead of a single entry. Even so, what the hell?
On the other hand, Gunstar Heroes is ranked pretty respectably (number 33) for a game completely unknown by the mainstream.
I could alternately rail against and grudgingly compliment the Guinness list for hours, but I've got things to do. Instead, I've included the entire thing below so that you all can tear it to pieces in the comments.
