If you're one of those iPhone gamers who refuses to trust the huge swath of normally cold-hearted gaming critics who've shown near-unanimous praise for ngmoco's Rolando, you finally have a chance to try it out, free of charge, thanks to the newly-released Rolando Lite.
Included in Rolando Lite is Honeycup Meadows, the first of four chapters found in the full version of the game. Additionally, the demo also includes Rolando's iSave feature "which saves and restores progress whenever play is stopped or interrupted at exactly the place players left off."
Though the demo's release is obviously a clever ploy to suck even more iPhone owners into spending hours in Rolando's colorful, adorable world, ngmoco founder Neil Young had this to say of the newly released demo:
As if Rolando's inclusion in our recent 10 iPhone Games You Must Own list wasn't enough motivation for you to buy the $6 game, this demo leaves you with no excuse. Give Rolando Lite a shot and see why it actually makes handheld gaming on a device not manufactured by Sony or Nintendo seem like an enticing prospect.
