Yesterday, it seemed impossible to find anyone from the McCain campaign to represent the candidate in a tech policy debate. Wired's efforts, in collaboration with the New America Foundation, to sponsor a conversation on the issues that matter to our readers was running into a political brick wall.
Today, though, the McCain people offered senior economic policy adviser, Douglas Holtz-Eakin, the former head of the Congressional Budget Office. Bless them.
Holtz-Eakin will square off with Reed Hundt sometime next week. It should be a terrific show, and it will offer at least a brief respite from the baloney about Bill Ayers and Sarah Palin's wardrobe. We'll post exact details on the time and place soon.
