Japanese players of Soulcalibur IV are about to get their easy "Soul Crushes" taken away from them, courtesy of a patch from Bandai Namco.
Siliconera reports that the Japan-only update rebalances the game, with some of the changes including making it harder to achieve a "Soul Crush" -- a vulnerable state that leaves a character practically defenseless -- and a fix for Ivy's infinite combo.
So far the patch has not reached any other region, but consider yourself warned.
