We understand that putting together a 30-second advertisement can result in some corner cutting, but the ad for the 3G iPhone takes the concept to a new level.
While the new iPhone is certainly faster than its predecessor, and lacks the metal back that caused audio problems with last week’s interview with Stereolab’s Tim Gane, the video to the right reveals that the advertisement for the product portrays it as accessing the internet at speeds so high it would make your laptop jealous.
It’d be great if the 3G iPhone were really this fast — just think of all the music you could download! But alas, the device’s 3G data speeds are nowhere near as fast as this ad would have us believe.
Come on, Apple, people love you. Don’t lie to them.
