While it’s hardly surprising to see celebrity music gear show up on eBay, we were hard pressed to think of a single instance of Monty Python using a vocoder to process their voices.
But for a mere $5,500, you can own this little piece of history: the vocoder that belonged to Monty Python. According to the seller, they used it to record "Here Comes Another One" from their Contractual Obligations audio album, released the same year this vocoder came out (1979).
We’ve posted a stream for your listening pleasure (?). One passage near the end sounds an awful lot like the cowboy music sections from the most annoying song in the world, but this stands alone as a bizarre recording in its own right.
