OK, maybe one small change: We'd have the cover say, It's 1973 Again! to reference the oil crisis of that year. Although Car and Driver's intent with this piece is to bring back a storied test (C/D November 1969: Challenger vs. Mustang), the magazine has inadvertently (?) proffered a very important cover line. Truth is, the oughts are a lot like the 1970s: We've got a serious problem with oil, and Detroit is still trying to hawk cars whose fuel economies are best measured in meters, not miles, per gallon.
