Can’t wait till 2009 to revisit the glory days of the Starship Enterprise? Thanks to YouTuber kirkslashspock, you won’t have to.
Kirkslashspock created a montage from vintage episodes of the Star Trek animated series, and set the mashup to a staccato rendition of britpop hit "Common People" by William Shatner (aka Capt. James T. Kirk).
But kirkslashspock didn’t remix just any clips — his compilation is an homage to the relationship between Kirk and Spock.
He coined the mix a slash-up, for the particular strain of fan fiction called Kirk/Spock that explored the possibility of a sexual relationship between the two men.
Watch the embedded video and enjoy the retro-futuristic ‘toon (and the amusing series of gestures and exchanged glances between Spock and Kirk). There’s even an animated scene with tribbles. Classic.
