
We've been very much looking forward the upcoming My Bloody Valentine reunion tour, to say the least. But are the band on form? Judging from MP3s that leaked from the band's Friday show at London's small ICA venue, the answer is a resounding "yes."
Despite not having played a live show together in a full 15 years and Shields announcing at the start of the gig that this was only a "rehearsal," they sound as magical as ever.
If you're not already a fan of the band, check out the MBV muxtape I put together earlier this year instead, Loveless, or one if their EPs, because you need already to have the songs lodged in your head before these live recordings will make much sense to you. But if you already know and love them, the below recording will provide happy assurance that My Bloody Valentine not about to ruin their unparalleled reputation.
Speaking of which, it takes a certain "break a leg"-style sense of humor to play the warm-up show for your massively-anticipated reunion show on Friday the 13th.
