In this week’s Wired Gadget Lab Podcast, Dylan Tweney and Jose Fermoso talk about one of the hottest gadget categories of the year, Mini-notebooks. They’ll discuss the most important factors users should consider before buying them, including the size of the screen, the processor speed, and the price. They also note that these laptops are coming closer to matching the idealized version of the portable laptop, as envisioned many years ago by computing pioneer Alan Kay.
In addition, they’ll talk about one of the interesting subplots of the upcoming Olympic games: Will the use of Speedo’s space-age body swimsuits affect the competition in the pool to an unfair degree, or will their competitors’ recent versions of the suit catch up in time to push all athletes to new speed records?
Lastly, they’ll mention the highly rated 52-inch Westinghouse LCD, as well as the funniest story of the week: The Eye-Fi card that helped catch camera thieves, through the magic of access points and Wi-Fi.
