Pre-order the upcoming fighter/RPG/rhythm game Custom Beat Battle Draglade 2, and get a pair of customized headphones.
First it's Square Enix trying to entice players with wine, now Namco Bandai hopes to get a few more gamers to rush out and reserve their upcoming release by offering a pair of headphones -- or rather, the "Super Beat Headphones" as worn by the game's hero -- to those who do so before its July 10th release in Japan.
The sequel to last year's Nintendo DS genre bender offers up a 2-D fighting experience that incorporates the sort of controls you'd see in a rhythm game, and then supplements them with RPG touches, such as leveling up.
If only Sega had had this idea: I would have killed for some Jet Grind Radio headphones, or maybe even the headset worn by Space Channel 5's Ulala. Yes, I did indeed love the Dreamcast.
