The Olympic Games aren't the only spectacle making a splash in Beijing this year.
This giant beast of an LED screen, dubbed the Zero Energy Media Wall, will be unveiled this month in the Chinese capital. Located at the Xicui entertainment complex, near the site of the 2008 Olympics, the screen won't show adverts or commercials, but a rotating display of media by artists around the globe.
The best part about the luminscent screen is that it's entirely self-sustained. The wall harvests energy using photovoltaic cells during the day to fuel the 2,300 LEDs that make up its pixelated display by night.
