A while back we made this fun little map (above) in a desperate attempt to keep up with all of the bands that in one way or another were named after geographic places. We threw it up on the blog, it got a little attention and then we left it up to the masses to fool around with.
In the months that have followed our little creation has been viewed and played with more than 9,000 times. And — lo and behold — not too long ago the fine folks at Platial got in touch to say that "Wish You Were Here" had won the award for best music map in the 2007 Platial + Frappr Map Awards! Ok, technically it tied with another map, but it still feels like a win.
But wait, the fun doesn’t stop there. Because they’re awesome, the Platial team has now turned the map into a Facebook app that you can drop on your profile right now! Just go here to load it up. Pretty darn cool, huh?
