David Ellison, the 25 year-old son of Oracle chief Larry Ellison, is sort of following his father's path. If by "following his father's path" we're talking about flying planes and throwing around lots of money.

Young Ellison, an aviation enthusiast, is partly financing a script he co-wrote about stunt flying called "Northern Lights," according to Variety. The script will be rewritten and directed by Chuck Russell (producer of "The Mask," "Girls Just Want to Have Fun" and "Back to School"). Ellison, a capable stunt flyer (and Howard Hughesclone), may give himself a small role, too, according to the report.

This wouldn't be David's first film. Both Larry and David Ellison helped finance "Flyboys," a World War I drama, in which David played the part of Eddie Beagle. The movie was something of a box office flop, though -- it grossed $13.1 million at the box office and cost $60 million to produce.
