Japan Eyes Blink Controlled Music Players

The KomeKami Switch puts the "eye" in iPod. The device, translated as "Temple Switch", is an infra red sensor which clips to a pair of glasses and monitors the movement of the eyelids. These movements are used to control a music player, with combinations of long and short winks and blinks corresponding to skip, fast forward, pause and play.

According to the designer, Kazuhiro Taniguchi, the system is smart enough to spot deliberate eye movements and ignore normal, involuntary twitches:

This system doesn't malfunction even if the user eats, talks, walks and runs.

Just be careful on the Metro. Winking at strangers is not recommended.
