David Cross, Kevin Corrigan, and Yo La Tengo lend their voices and sounds to The Toe Tactic,* *a live-action/animation mash-up that follows a young woman grieving her father's death and looking for her lost wallet. Everything she comes across -- lonely neighbors, animated objects, and a songwriting elevator man -- are manipulated by a card game played by four capricious dogs. Um, what?
Yo La Tengo has scored three other films by the director Emily Hubley, all shorts. This is Hubley's first feature. From the trailer I'm not quite sure what's going on, but it looks like a decent stoner flick at the very least.
