Republican presidential hopeful John McCain has been using tracks from John Mellencamp (pictured, right) during his campaign trail and the singer is not into it. Mellencamp, who was endorsing John Edwards before Edwards dropped out of the race, has sent a letter to McCain's camp asking him to stop using his tracks, including "Our Country". In the letter the crooner, who is to be inducted to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on March 1, writes, ""Are you sure you want to use [John's] music? Logic says that the facts might prove to be an embarrassment."

It's not unusual for government bodies to use tracks from artists for purposes that in the long run don't quite make sense -- like Rage Against the Machine being used to torture detainees in Gitmo and other sites.
