Spam is so difficult to quash because we secretly really like it, according to a study released today by internet marketing company Endai Worldwide. The majority of people surveyed by Endai (25 percent) said they would purchase a product based on spam if the "product offered was of interest." Among those surveyed, 47 percent said they would open spam email "if the subject line is appealing or interesting."

Who are these people? Well, given the fact that they were bribed with "free stuff from FreeRide.com" for participating in the survey, we're not sure they are a fair representation of the internet universe. Also, the majority (79.4 percent) of responses were from women.
