After a week or so of rampant gemutlichkeit, German geeks are back in the same Apple purgatory as the rest of us. A court in Hamburg has decided that T-Mobile's German arm does not have to sell an unlocked version of the iPhone there, overriding a temporary injunction granted as part of a suit by rival Vodaphone.
T-Mobile says it's back to its original plan of selling iPhones for the equivalent of $600 with two-year service contract. Refuseniks can still cross the border into France, where carrier Orange is selling unlocked phones at a steep premium.
