Wacom's elite product is the Cintiq, a combination LCD display and graphics tablet that goes for well over two grand. The standard 21UX, 21" across with a 1600x1200 resolution, is now joined by the 20WSX, a 20" 1680x1050 widescreen counterpart. and a bizarre little thing called the 12WX, which we'll get to in a moment.
The 20WSX, priced at $2,000, is a little cheaper than its fullscreen brother, but retains its 1,024 pressure sensitivity levels and similar dimensions.
It's the 12WX, however, that brings real change to the lineup.
Instead of adding a tablet to an LCD monitor, Wacom's taken the opposite approach: add an LCD display to the tablet.
The resulting device is far more lightweight, at 4.4 pounds, and far more portable — though it still must be tethered to a PC or Mac. Best of all, it comes in at "only" $1,000.
This thing begs to come as a fully-featured artists' computer, with a built-in UMPC. In the meantime, duct-tape an OQO to the back.
