He told Associated Press the competition of Blu-ray vs. HD DVD is now at a "stalemate," a bit of a comedown from Blu-ray's former (Sony-proclaimed) status as Dominant Format That will Crush All Who Dare To Stand Its Path. The Gaelic guru made no mention of recent price evisceration on HD DVD players but acknowledged that movie studio politics had hurt Sony:
